Spring Flowers 12" x 12" Scrapbook Layout

You will need

Step 1

Print out the backing papers onto the backing paper and the paper strips and a greetings layer onto the decoupage paper. If you are planning to use any precious photographs then do make sure that the paper, card and ink you use are acid and lignin free.

Step 2

As the largest items you'll print out from the CDs are A4 in size a little bit of ingenuity is needed to make your layouts.

Start with the 12" x 12" Scrapbook sheet and start to arrange your A4 backing papers on the sheet. Use a yellow gingham on the right hand side and a coordinating patterned paper in yellow on the left.

Co-ordinating backing paper on the left Gingham print backing paper on the right.

Step 3

As you'll see the A4 backing sheets don't quite reach all the way to the bottom so add 2 more sheets, but this time use the same green gingham pattern for them both.

Don't worry if the pattern on the green gingham isn't quite in line, once we've finished it will not be noticeable. When you're happy with the arrangement of the baking papers stick them in place.

Step 4

take the 2 paper strips and place them over the joins in the backing paper. They won't quite reach to the opposite side of the page, but we'll rectify that in a minute. But don't stick them down yet!

Now take your photos and arrange them in a pleasing pattern on your page. Once you're happy with the arrangement matt your photos to one of the darker backing papers leaving a small border around the edge. Take your chosen greetings layer and matt this onto a darker shade.

I chose to print out just the very top layer of the greeting onto thin white card, cut away the thin lilac border and edged this in black. I matted it onto the deep gold background and added more pages behind the greeting and used them as hidden journaling pages secured them with 2 brads at the top.

If your printer won't take card then print onto paper and adhere this to thin card.

The photos, greeting and paper strips should still be loose on your page, but it should look something like this now:-

Paper strips and photographs loosely laid out

Step 5

Carefully note where the horizontal paper strip crosses over the vertical strip and cut through the vertical strip. Stick the top part of the strip in place and carefully line the small piece you cut off with the top piece and stick in place against the bottom edge of your page. Do the same with the horizontal strip but cutting it under where the greeting will go.

Step 6

Attach your photos and greeting to the page and finish off with either a hand written title or use rub down letters to create your title.
